Moon and Jupiter in the spotlight

The first observations of celestial bodies with a telescope took place on the Ostankino tower. On Sunday night at altitude of 340 meters more than 150 persons became participants in special event «Astronomical Hour with Moscow Planetarium». The educational project was launched at the full moon phase, which made it possible to see natural satellite of Earth in all its glory. Observation was occurred with a lens telescope. Astronomer of Moscow Planetarium Maxim Morozov spoke about the lunar seas and their features. Also during the seance it was possible to observe the largest planet of the Solar System - Jupiter with its four satellites. In this night, Jupiter was the brightest star in the sky and was visible to the naked eye. Next observation sessions take place in July.
